Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street. Blair's court, Serena's returns and the show's most quoted lunch scenes. Free, public, and the single most photographed stop of any Gossip Girl tour.
The Palace Hotel
The Lotte New York Palace on Madison Avenue at 50th Street stood in for the van der Woodsen residence. The courtyard entrance is the shot people recognise instantly.
The Empire Hotel
44 West 63rd Street, next to Lincoln Center. Chuck's hotel, and the red neon sign that closes out so many establishing shots.
The school steps
The Museum of the City of New York, Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street, played Constance Billard and St. Jude's. Wide, grand and instantly familiar.
Bethesda Terrace and Central Park
The terrace, the Bow Bridge and the Conservatory Water all appear across the six seasons, and they sit minutes apart inside the park — the most scenic stretch of any route.
Grand Central Terminal
89 East 42nd Street, where the pilot opens with Serena's return. The main concourse and its celestial ceiling are free to walk through.
How to order the day
Start in Midtown, work north through Central Park, finish on the Upper East Side around the Met — that keeps the transitions short and puts the best light on the Fifth Avenue stops late in the afternoon.
